Schweiz besiegt die USA


Penaltyschiessen in der Olympiahalle


München, 12.11.2011 - Am zweiten Spieltag des 22. Deutschland Cup trafen die Schweiz auf das Team USA. Die Mannschaft von Co-Trainer Chris Chelios, die am ersten Spieltag etwas enttäuschten begonnen die Partie schnell und gingen gleich in der ersten Minute des Spiels mit 1:0 in Führung. Nach diesem Auftakt dauerte es weniger als 60 Sekunden ehe die Eidgenossen aus der Schweiz den Ausgleich erzielten. Kurz darauf folgte sogar der Führungstreffer für die Schweiz. Es entwickelte sich ein gutes Eishockeyspiel mit vielen Torszenen auf beiden Seiten.

Vielleicht hatte Chris Chelios nach dem enttäuschenden Spiel von gestern seiner Mannschaft "Chili" verordnet, denn heute konnten die knapp 3.000 Zuschauer in der Olympiahalle eine wesentlich bessere Mannschaftsleistung sehen. Es dauerte trotz der Bemühungen allerdings bis zum 36. Minute bis durch Salcido Brian der verdiente Ausgleich erzielt wurde.

Die letzten 20 Minuten bleiben spannend und das Spiel nimmt zunehmend an Härte zu, es gibt einige kleinere Boxeinlagen, die auf beiden Seiten mit Strafzeiten belegt wurden. Am Ende steht es nach Strafminuten 20:20 und der Spielstand 2:2 unentschieden.

In der darauffolgenden Verlängerung kann die USA trotz einer Überzahlmöglichkeit den entscheidenden Treffer nicht anbringen und so gibt es für die Eishockeyfans in München das erste Penaltyschiessen beim diesjährigen Deutschland Cup 2011. Den entscheidenden Penalty wird von der Schweiz verwandelt.

Als bester Spieler wurde bei den Schweizern der Torhüter Berra Reto und bei den US Boys Brian Lasch ausgezeichnet.
